One of Jaguar Land Rover's upcoming next-generation SUVs has been spotted testing for the first time. The car's low stance suggests that it is more intended for use on paved roads.
Presumably, this model will become the successor to the Range Rover Velar. The prototype is hidden under heavy camouflage, hiding the details. It can be seen that the car has a lower roofline, and the extended rear overhang indicates potential space for a third row of seats.
When Jaguar Land Rover announced its upcoming electric vehicle lineup in 2021, it promised to introduce six electric vehicles by 2026, including two Jaguars. However, the company has since revised that plan to four electric vehicles, although it remains unclear which models were delayed.
Like the next-generation Evoque, the new EV is expected to use the EMA platform, with production expected to begin before the end of 2025. The next-generation Velar will be an electric luxury car that will rival the Porsche Macan EV.
Jaguar Land Rover has not yet announced the official characteristics of its future electric vehicles. However, the company said the all-electric Range Rover's performance will be on par with the current flagship Ranger Rover V8, it will have an 800-volt architecture and feature towing, wading and off-road technologies that will outperform any other luxury electric SUV».
