But the US share will increase from 10% to 14%
In recent years, the United States has been actively increasing its semiconductor production capacity. The new CHIPS Act, which is designed to further strengthen the US position in this market, will ultimately allow the country to triple its chip production by 2032, the fastest growth rate in the world.
By 2032, US semiconductor manufacturing capacity is expected to grow 203% compared to 2022. As a result, 14% of the world's semiconductor production capacity will be located in the United States, up from 10% in 2022
Capacity will increase in all segments at once, as the US semiconductor industry will increase production of CPUs, GPUs, DRAM, and other products. This expansion represents the largest projected growth in the world over the period.
However, even after this, the United States will still be only fifth in the world in terms of chip production volumes. In fact, they are fifth now. Ahead are China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
