The transition from GeForce RTX 40 to RTX 50 will bring a smaller performance increase than the transition from RTX 30 to RTX 40. New products may be released at the end of 2024

Or the cards will be released in early 2025

The release of GeForce RTX 50 video cards is still about a year away, and it is still unclear when exactly the first adapters will be released. According to recent data, Nvidia has not yet made a decision.

The author of Moore's Law Is Dead, citing Nvidia's own sources, says that the company is ready to release new video cards in the fourth quarter of 2024, but it is not a fact that it will do so.&nbsp ;

The decision will be made based on many factors. These include sales of RTX 40 cards during 2024, and the readiness of TSMC’s 3-nanometer process technology, and Nvidia’s forecasts regarding the capabilities of AMD video cards on the new RDNA 4 architecture. At the same time, Nvidia will definitely be ready for CES 2025 and launch in early 2025 if it decides do not rush to launch new products at the end of 2024.

As for performance, it’s very early to say anything specific, but supposedly in general the transition from RTX 40 to RTX 50 will not bring the same performance increase as the transition from RTX 30 to RTX 40. However, in In general, this is not a particularly informative formulation, since the conditional RTX 4090 offered a huge increase relative to the RTX 3090, but the RTX 4060 Ti is sometimes even slower than the RTX 3060 Ti.
