Dragon Age head writer David Gaider made a surprising point during a Twitter discussion about video game adaptations. The writer believes that the franchise he worked on was not the best idea.

“Everyone is probably expecting me to say Dragon Age, but that would be a terrible idea. I'd love to see a David Lynch style Disco Elysium (on acid). Or maybe Banishers. Mass Effect or Baldur's Gate 3. The reason is that many of the artistic and narrative elements of these stories have already been seen in dozens of other forms, in dozens of other stories.

Guider worked on Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and Anthem. He recently served as creative director for Stray Gods.
