When buying a new PC, this is no longer the best option
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D gaming processor recently entered the market with a recommended price of $250. Today TechSpot published a large review of this CPU in games.
Recall that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is almost identical to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but operates at significantly lower frequencies. However, as tests show, this is not particularly critical for games given the additional cache memory.
In modern games in Full HD with a GeForce RTX 4090 video card, the new AMD product shows on average only 4% slower than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The difference in recommended prices for processors is very large, but the latter has long since become much cheaper, so in reality the gap between CPUs is only about 60–70 dollars, which is still noticeable in this segment.
Thus, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is more profitable than its older brother, if we talk only about games, although in the same Cinebench 2024 the difference between these two CPUs is approximately the same.
As for the results in general, now the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 7 5800X3D no longer look as impressive compared to other CPUs as they did when the older model was released. The Ryzen 7000 line is head and shoulders above the Ryzen 5000 in games, and the latest Intel CPUs are also good.
In the end if we are talking about updating the AM4 platform, then the Ryzen 7 5700X3D — excellent choice for your money. More precisely, this is the best CPU in terms of price and performance. If we are talking about buying a new PC, then it is advisable to take a closer look at the Ryzen 5 7600/7600X, which provide approximately the same performance in games, cost the same, but the platform provides much more updating options. In particular, the same Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the most powerful gaming processor among all, although it is much cheaper than flagship models. However, it is also significantly more expensive than the hero of today’s review.
