Silicon carbide-based components are planned to be supplied for electric motor control and charging infrastructure
Russian electronics manufacturer «Element» will supply components for the Russian electric car «Atom». GK «Element» and JSC «Kama», the creator of «Atom», agreed to establish joint development of a component base for wide application for electric vehicles.
U «Element» There is already a line of electronics for the automotive industry; products are produced at the Zelenograd plant «Mikron». For «Atom» plans to supply power electronics components based on silicon carbide – transistors, power diodes, power modules and converters. They are used in electric motor control and charging infrastructure.
Design capacity of the new enterprise of the Group of Companies «Element» in Zelenograd will be 100,000 silicon wafers and 40,000 silicon carbide wafers per year. Production of new power electronics components could begin next year.
