There is a week left before the launch to the ISS, the ship will carry 2.5 tons of cargo
Today, May 23, in the installation and testing building of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, specialists from the Rocket and Space Corporation «Energia» and other Roscosmos enterprises docked the cargo ship «Progress MS-27» with transition compartment. The transition compartment enters the space head section, providing mechanical connection between the ship and the head fairing and integration of its command interface into the on-board control system of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle.
Completing work on the ship, specialists carried out a test switch-on of the command-telemetry system equipment and prepared «Progress MS-27» for author's inspection. The launch of a cargo ship to the International Space Station (ISS) is planned in a week — May 30, 2024. It will deliver 2504 kg of cargo to the ISS: equipment for the station, packing for scientific experiments, clothing, water, food for the crew, etc.
