New photos published
New spy shots of the Tank 800 from Great Wall Motor (GWM) have appeared — this time we are shown the interior in detail and the car itself without camouflage, but in low resolution .
Chinese media reports that the Tank 800 will use the same powertrain as the Tank 700 Hi4-T, which received a hybrid based on a twin-turbo 3.0T V6 engine and a nine-speed HAT gearbox along with an electric motor. The installation provides a total power of 385 kW and a torque of 850 N·m.
In design, the Tank 800 is more similar to the boxy Tank 300 and Tank 500 than to the Tank 400 and Tank 700. Inside, the dashboard has been noticeably redesigned. One notable addition is the row of physical buttons below the large central screen. You can also get an idea of what the Tank 800 will look like thanks to the image of the car on the screen.
The overall layout of the center console is very similar to the Tank 500 with a massive gear lever and a rotating drive mode selector. The salon from the photo seems spacious.
The Tank 800 is capable of handling serious off-road conditions as it is equipped with air suspension and double wishbones both front and rear.
Sales will begin later this year.
