The gas “accordion” seats 155 passengers, can “squat” at stops and is equipped with USB sockets
The new extra-large class bus KamAZ-6299 will undergo test operation in St. Petersburg; it will be used on the city’s busiest routes for two months. St. Petersburg became the first city to receive a new articulated bus, simply put – «accordion». KamAZ-6299 runs on natural gas, it is designed for 155 people, there are seats in it – 44.
The bus is equipped with a gas engine with a capacity of 320 hp. With. and automatic gearbox. KamAZ-6299 is equipped with handrails with signal buttons for opening doors, USB chargers and a climate system. The independent front suspension ensures a smooth ride; in addition, the bus can «squat» to the stopping platform, which makes it easier for passengers to board. The driver's workplace is equipped with an instrument cluster with a touch screen, which displays all the necessary information, including data from video cameras installed in the cabin.
In the second quarter of 2024, they promise to bring to the market a diesel modification of the especially large Kamaz-6299 bus. In addition, next year KamAZ will offer St. Petersburg a new modification of the KamAZ-6282 electric bus with night charging; the plant’s immediate plans – transfer this electric bus to test operation.
