They are based on spy photos
The automotive industry is gearing up for a big event when Audi releases its largest crossover, the Audi Q9. Earlier, photographs of test prototypes appeared on the Internet, on the basis of which kolesa.ru created renderings of the new product.
Rumors about the development of the Audi Q9 have been floating around the Internet for a long time, but only this year spy photographers were able to capture the first camouflaged prototypes. Despite the camouflage, the main features of this car could be seen in the photographs.
The first thing that catches your eye is the unusual body proportions for an Audi, with a high roof and almost vertical rear pillars. But in general, the design will be consistent with other models of the company. From the front, separate optics catch the eye, with LED lights on top and large blocks of main light below.
The radiator grille will be large with an original V-shaped trim. The door handles will also be non-standard for Audi, but this solution has already been seen on other new models of the company. On the back there are large lights with characteristic «fangs» on the sides, united by an LED strip, give the car a recognizable appearance.
Judging by the exhaust pipes, the Audi Q9 will be offered with traditional internal combustion engines, possibly in various hybrid variations. This corresponds to the company’s new naming system, where models with odd indices will receive an internal combustion engine, and those with even ones — completely electric filling. The cabin is planned to have three rows of seats, and the main competitors will be the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
