The new Mazda 6 will have a classic rear-wheel drive layout (but will have all-wheel drive for an additional fee)
The Japanese resource BestCarWeb has revealed details about the new generation Mazda 6. According to the resource, this year the company plans to launch the three-row crossover CX-80 on the market, but the new Mazda 6 will be the company’s next new product – The sedan will appear in 2025.
It is reported that work on the car was suspended, but did not stop: in the key market, the USA, the company needs not only crossovers, but also a “luxury sedan”. This is exactly what the new “six” should turn out to be.
The most interesting – technique. In terms of units, the Mazda 6 will be unified with the CX-60 crossover. This means that the base car will have a 2.5-liter gasoline 4-cylinder engine (on the CX-60 it produces 185 hp) and rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive for an additional fee). As an alternative – The 3.3-liter diesel inline 6-cylinder engine is the same, but with a hybrid superstructure. Power – from 214 to 267 hp, drive – back or full. The gearbox in all cases is the same – 8-speed «automatic».
According to BestCarWeb, the dimensions of the new generation Mazda 6 will be 4900 x 1890 x 1450 mm, wheelbase – 2870 mm. The estimated price of the future new product has even been named – from 30 to 43 thousand dollars.
