The former Russian Bosch plant will produce spark plugs from domestic zirconium dioxide

Zirconium dioxide powder from Russian raw materials will replace foreign analogues

As part of the ongoing St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the company «Rosatom» and Meteor Auto signed an agreement to establish the production of zirconium dioxide from Russian raw materials. The material will be used to create Meteor candles (previously Bosch candles). Zirconium dioxide gives spark plugs strength and makes them more resistant to corrosion.

 «The final goal — launch of serial production of zirconium dioxide powder from Russian raw materials, which will replace existing foreign analogues and increase the technological independence of the national automotive industry», — stated in «Rosatom».
