The change in Unity policy has made many developers nervous. The creator of Road to Vostok decided not to take risks and took a new engine
In September 2023, Unity announced a change to the engine's distribution policy. It involved payment for each installation, which caused a wave of indignation.
Ex-military and part-time developer of Road to Vostok (survival shooter in the spirit of Escape from Tarkov) 3 months ago decided to transfer the game from the Unity engine to another. Porting took 615 hours, now the game is on Godot.
Road to Vostok has a page on Steam, the developer offers to try out the new demo Public Demo 1 v3 (work is currently underway on the Public demo Demo 2 showing the main game loop).
