The head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov believes that the “empty” Lada Granta can be in demand in rural areas
Yesterday, insiders reported that AvtoVAZ began producing the Lada Granta, which has virtually nothing in the options, not even a light in the trunk. And, as it turns out now, we are not talking about a shortage of components, which does not allow us to produce fully equipped cars.
According to Maxim Sokolov, cited by the resource «Auto News of the Day», AvtoVAZ does not exclude the possibility of releasing ultra-cheap Lada Granta – those that have practically only a steering wheel and pedals.
The President of AvtoVAZ believes that simplified versions of «Grants» especially in demand in rural areas: «if the buyer is ready to give up the conventional electric power steering in order to buy a car even 10 thousand rubles cheaper, then AvtoVAZ is ready to give him this opportunity».
