Sebastien Benard said Motion Twin's press release was full of “marketing nonsense” and he's glad he left the studio

Not long ago, Motion Twin announced that it was ending support for the metroidvania Dead Cells. Many fans of the game accepted the studio’s decision with sadness, although the overwhelming majority agreed with it.

In turn, Motion Twin co-founder and former studio designer Sebastien Benard, who left the studio in 2020 year, considers what happened to be real “bestiality” and “marketing nonsense.” Journalists drew attention to Benard’s harsh statements:

“Since you’re asking me, I think that Motion Twin committed a truly bestial act regarding Dead Cells and Evil Empire [game publisher].

I was behind the scenes and I can honestly say that I am glad to have no ties to the studio. The official statement is pure marketing nonsense.

I never would have thought that my former studio would be so greedy ».
