Not the most powerful model and not the most beautiful, but affordable, spacious and economical
The budget sedan Wuling Starlight entered the Chinese market on December 6, 2023, and now the first sales report has appeared. It turned out that the car was selling quickly: 18 294 units were purchased in a month. It’s interesting that in fact the car turned out to be a youth car: 70% of buyers – aged 18 to 35 years. Probably many people buy Wuling Starlight as their first car to learn how to drive.
Despite the very low price (from 12.4 to 14.8 thousand dollars), the car turned out to be spacious even by Chinese standards: dimensions are 4835 x 1860 x 1515 mm with a wheelbase length of 2800 mm.
Equipped – digital instrument panel with 8.8-inch screen, 15.6-inch media system (with integrated navigation and support for over-the-air updates), leather interior, climate and cruise control, etc.
The power plant includes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 106 hp. and an electric motor with a power of 177 hp. There are two options for traction batteries: with a capacity of 9.5 and 20.5 kWh. Accordingly, the range on pure electricity is 70 and 150 km. Maximum range of a fully charged and refueled car – 1100 km.
