This is not a concept, but a running prototype
At the Open Day at the «Minsk State Polytechnic College» showed the latest Belarusian vehicles. The star of the impromptu exhibition was the running prototype of the new generation MAZ-X long-haul tractor.
This is a hybrid truck with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 300-horsepower Chinese Weichai diesel engine and two electric motors. The MAZ-X features not only an advanced powertrain, but also an unusual-looking cab with a single tilt-and-slide driver's door. The car has a single-pitch tire on the drive axle and a 4-point air suspension on the rear axle.
It is not known when the production version of the MAZ-X will be released, but KamAZ K6 should become its Russian competitor.
