Telegram messenger launched its own currency — Stars («Stars»). With their help, it will be possible to pay for digital goods and services in Telegram mini-applications: from e-books and online courses to items in games. You can buy Stars through payment systems in the online stores App Store and Google Play or using the PremiumBot bot.

True, Apple and Google take a commission from users when purchasing Stars, and it is as much as 30%. However, Telegram promises to subsidize advertising purchased on «Stars», so the commission will be almost zero. Creators of Telegram mini-applications will be able to convert received Stars into Toncoin cryptocurrency through the Fragment platform.
