Subaru and Honda do not officially supply their cars to Russia, but they have not curtailed service and warranty programs
As Autonews reports, Honda and Subaru cars are offered in Russia with an official warranty. This is what the sellers themselves write — official dealers of Honda and Subaru. They explain: although Japanese car brands no longer officially import their cars to Russia, they have not curtailed service and warranty programs.
«The fact is that Subaru did not leave the Russian market and the representative office is still operating in our country. Therefore, they retain all warranty obligations and also bring the necessary consumables. This is an important difference between Subaru cars and models of other brands that have left Russia and no longer have representative offices with us, but are brought by dealers under the parallel import scheme. Therefore, in our case, I would call the cars semi-official», — explained one of the Subaru dealer employees.
Honda has a similar situation: the Japanese company has repeatedly announced its departure from Russia, but the brand’s representative office in Russia has not completely curtailed its work.
What about the prices? A Forester with a two-liter engine in the basic Elegance configuration with a three-year warranty costs 4.75 million rubles. The analogue from Honda is noticeably more expensive: «These cars are adapted for Russian conditions and are produced at a factory in China. They are supplied, let’s say, through the distributor of the brand in Russia. The scheme here is completely transparent, you don’t even have to worry. Price for Honda CR-V — preliminary 6 290 000 rub. However, „at the hood“ we are ready to discuss serious discounts», — the seller said.
A Honda representative said that the factory warranty (3 years or 100 thousand km) also applies to the Chinese ZR-V crossover, comparable in size to the Mazda CX-5. Price — 4.3 million rubles.
