Since the company patents almost nothing
SpaceX already delivers up to 87% of all cargo into Earth orbit, which is a new record. Five Chinese launch vehicles together put into orbit 13.6 times less cargo than SpaceX rockets.
Elon Musk commented on this information, saying that later this year SpaceX will be able to launch more than 90% of its entire payload into Earth orbit.
Once we get Starship launches up and running, our share will likely exceed 99%. It has to be this way, otherwise we won't be able to build a city on Mars or a base on the Moon.
