We're talking about higher resolution and higher frame rates
The PlayStation 5 Pro console has not yet been presented, but more and more details about the console are appearing on the Internet. The new ones also concern the difference in games that can be seen on the new console compared to the current one.
So, the games that will be adapted for the new console will be labeled PS5 Pro Enhanced. It is reported that now inside Sony this nameplate is called Trinity Enhanced, but the final name will probably be PS5 Pro Enhanced, because it was similar in the days of PS4 Pro.
For PS5 Pro, games will be able to offer an exclusive mode where, using the PSSR upscaler, the resolution will be increased to 4K, where there will be a stable 60 fps and improved ray tracing effects. More specifically, games can be labeled PS5 Pro Enhanced if they offer any of the following enhancements:
- Increased target resolution for fixed resolution games on PS5
- Increased target maximum resolution for games that run at variable resolution on PS5
- Increased target framerate for fixed framerate games on PS5
- Enabling ray tracing effects PS5 Pro
So overall, PlayStation 5 Pro owners should experience higher rendering resolutions and/or higher frame rates in most adapted games. The goal for Sony is 4K at 60 fps, but with a PSSR upscaler.
Recall that the console is expected at the end of this year.
