It will be released in early 2025
Skoda has completed the design of its new crossover, which will go on sale next year, as Autocar writes.
This model will be the most affordable crossover in the brand’s line-up, and they plan to achieve a low price with the help of a high percentage of localization and tax benefits. The main market for the new crossover will be India, while Skoda plans to achieve a localization level of up to 90%, which will help reduce production costs.
The focus on the Indian market is also visible in the inclusion of tax breaks related to vehicle size. The length of the new crossover should not exceed four meters, which meets the requirements for receiving tax benefits. It turns out that Skoda is creating a model comparable to cars such as the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
In addition, in the future it is planned to export modules to Mexico, Africa and some markets in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
The new product will be equipped with turbocharged engines of 1.0 and 1.5 liters, while the 150-horsepower version should not be expected, since it will not be able to receive tax breaks.
The start of production is expected in January 2025.
