Samsung, apparently, has few existing smartphone lines, so it is preparing a new — Galaxy C.
The Galaxy C55 smartphone has appeared in the Google Play Console database, which, apparently, will be the first-born of the line.
In fact, Samsung already had a Galaxy C line, but many years ago. The last model in it was the Galaxy C7, released back in 2017.
