Ryzen 8000G desktop processors will support USB4, but you'll have to buy a new motherboard

Technically, any Ryzen 8000G

will support USB4

Ryzen 8000G hybrid desktop processors, which are about to hit the market, will support the USB4 interface.

True, not on all motherboards. So far it is known that the Gigabyte Aorus B650E Elite X AX Ice will have such ports, but there will obviously be other models as well. Considering that the Ryzen 8000G — these are technically the same Ryzen 7040U/H/HS, USB4 support is the norm for them, but it all depends on the motherboard.

Of course, this means that you will need to buy both a new CPU and a new board, while in general the Ryzen 8000G will work fine on older AM5 boards.
