Ryzen 7 7800X3D unexpectedly loses significantly to Core i7-13700KF in terms of speed when working with SSDs

The reasons are still unclear

AMD Ryzen 7000 X3D processors, according to all tests, are the best options for gaming in their price categories, and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D — best overall. However, new data shows that Intel CPUs can outperform even these competitors in some ways. We're talking about working with SSDs.

As you can see, in the AS SSD and CrystalDiskMark benchmarks, in almost all modes, the drive performs slightly or noticeably better on the Intel platform. There are modes where the AMD platform has the lead, but there are much fewer of them. In some cases, the advantage reaches 50%.

In the 3DMark Storage Benchmark, which simulates real-world gaming performance (loading games, saving progress, installing game files and recording video streams of gameplay), the difference is even more pronounced, and the Intel platform is already 50-70% faster .
