It can refuel six aircraft on one charge

Aviation fuel operator «Gazprom Neft» – «Gazpromneft-Aero» – launched an electric fuel tanker. According to the company, the electric vehicle operates as an airfield fuel tanker for the first time in Russia. From one full charge, the machine can perform up to six refuelings of aircraft «in the wing».

Using an electric vehicle eliminates the emission of carbon dioxide and reduces operating costs by more than 60%, says Gazprom Neft. The new tanker serves flights of Aeroflot, Smartavia, Pobeda and Air Serbia at Sheremetyevo airport.

A standard heavy-duty vehicle is used as a platform for an electric truck, which has an electric motor installed instead of an internal combustion engine. Thanks to its increased traction, it is suitable for transporting tank trucks weighing from 20 to 60 tons at a speed of 30 km/h.
