As RBC writes, the Association of Air Transport Operators (AEVT, which includes the largest Russian airlines) asked the Federal Air Transport Agency to expand the list of countries supplying spare parts for foreign aircraft operated in Russia.

We recall that in May last year a resolution was adopted “On the peculiarities of licensing regimes in the field of aviation,” which actually allowed the use of imported components manufactured in third countries, rather than in the country of the aircraft developer. The list of such countries now includes: Iran, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Israel, Mexico, Turkey, India, Brazil, China, Great Britain, UAE, Jordan, Thailand, Aruba and South Africa.

And now airlines have asked to add seven more countries to this list: Indonesia, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan. Representatives of AEVT explained their position as follows: «These states and their aviation administrations have high results of ICAO audits, which indicates the proper organization of the flight safety system there&raquo ;.
