Less than a month after the release of Rise of the Ronin, Koei Tecmo changed its revenue forecast.

In a recent announcement, the studio cut its sales forecasts by 11% and expected operating profit fell by 28%. According to the document, software sales fall short of previous expectations by about $70 million. as it is the publisher's largest project.

Rise of the Ronin was released at the end of March 2024 fiscal year and Koei Tecmo planned for greater success at the start. It's not uncommon for games to sell 3-5 million copies in their first two weeks. For example, Dragon's Dogma 2 sold 2.5 million copies in 10 days.

Interestingly, Rise of the Ronin is doing better than expected in Japan, but that's not enough yet.
