PUBG: Battlegrounds is performing well in digital distribution, outperforming Apex Legends. This creates confidence that the game will continue to be supported.
Last Sunday, Steam alone had over 639,000 concurrent players at its peak. By comparison, Apex Legends attracted 437,000 concurrent people. PUBG is also consistently one of the most profitable games on Steam.
In connection with all this, the developers of PUBG: Battlegrounds announced plans described in the studio's latest video.
One of the most important new features coming to PUBG in 2024 will be destructible environments.
“Players will be able to destroy entire sections of buildings to gain a tactical advantage. We will give you the opportunity to create new paths through the ruins and build protective shelters. We want it to be more than just visual destruction – to enrich the gameplay with strategic and tactical layers.”
Destruction Update environment will appear in April 2024. Afterwards, the time will come for news regarding new weapons and equipment, which will be distributed free of charge.
