They were tested on Baikal
The Ikon Tires company presented the premium studded tire Ikon Autograph Ice 9, details of which were told by the editor-in-chief of the magazine «Behind the Wheel» Maxim Kadakov.
The announcement took place at the Motorsport Festival «Speed Days on the Ice of Baikal», which took place from February 27 to March 2, 2024. Races on Ikon Autograph Ice 9 tires were carried out on a specially prepared track 15 km long, designed for a car speed of 300 km/h.
The name Ikon Autograph was chosen to replace the previous brand names Hakkapeliitta and Hakka. The second line of tires – This is Ikon Nordman. In particular, Ikon Nordman 8 tires were tested at Baikal. In fact, the product line of Ikon Autograph and Ikon Nordman now completely replicates the line that was previously produced at the plant in St. Petersburg under the Finnish brand Nokian.
Maxim Kadakov
Kadakov clarified that Ikon Tires, in accordance with the terms of the agreement concluded with the Finns, replaced anti-skid studs in winter studded tires. The Russian company Ikon Tires itself designed new studs and conducted tests that showed good grip on ice and retention of other properties.
