Google did not explain the cause of the problem
Users of Google's new branded smartphones, Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, began to complain about mysterious screen imperfections, small irregularities and ripples under the display glass. Such formations indicate that something inside the device is pressed against the glass.
Affected users are complaining about such shortcomings on Reddit forums and Google support. Luckily, many have reported that they were able to receive a replacement phone from Google. Users also claim that these bumps don't actually affect the performance of device screens and are only visible if you're viewing under certain lighting conditions.
Despite offering a replacement for the Pixel 8 under warranty, Google has not explained the cause of the problem and has not yet officially responded to the situation.
