They are expected at the end of the year
Nvidia is going to once again change the 12VHPWR power connector. The new iteration will appear on GeForce RTX 50 video cards.
This will be the fourth change to the connector in the three years that it has been on the market. At the same time, problems with it did not start immediately, but after the release of the RTX 4090, and to this day, despite all the changes, these adapters continue to fail for this reason.
It should be noted that 12VHPWR — this is the name of only one of all these versions of the 16-pin connector (sometimes called the 12-pin connector), but it is this name that has stuck with it better than others. Moreover, all versions are physically almost identical and compatible.
As for AMD, it is supposedly going to continue using the usual six- and eight-pin connectors. Moreover, if the information about the absence of top-end adapters in the Radeon RX 8000 line is confirmed, the new AMD cards will not need much power.
