Toyota promised to supply a pilot batch of electric Toyota Hiluxes for use in Thailand as passenger transport, and now photos of such a version have appeared. In fact, the pictures show a Toyota Hilux as a minibus.

The ultra-modern tuk-tuk has a frame body and a superstructure over the cargo platform. Judging by how it is attached to the side of the frame, it is fiberglass. It is not known how many people can fit on the two benches. It may be noted that there are no seat belts, which is unlikely to be a reason for not certifying the car as a passenger vehicle in Thailand. Entrance to the passenger compartment — at the back, the fare money will have to be transferred to the driver through a window embedded in the partition between the cargo (or passenger) compartment.
