The American educational platform Chegg.com is conducting mass layoffs of staff. In particular, Ukrainian specialists were also laid off.
This was reported by the telegram channel “Overheard in IT” associated with DOU.
“It turns out that Chegg had employees in Ukraine (we didn’t know). Team of about 25 people. Some worked through outstaffing, some through direct contracts. Half were developers, there were also HR, devops, QA and support,” the message said.
In particular, 10 people will be fired in Ukraine. According to sources, without compensation and with a month to find a job.
The cuts are reported to be due to a drop in the company's shares.
The New York Post reported on layoffs at Chegg.com back in June. This comes weeks after the company's CEO Dan Rosensweig admitted that ChatGPT was disrupting the company's business as more students use AI to help with homework.
