C power plant with a capacity of 532 hp. and without analog tachometer
Porsche presented two models of the 911 line in the 992nd body, and this is one of them — hybrid. This is a Porsche Carrera GTS. This model combines a six-cylinder engine, an electrically driven turbocharger and an electric motor. Total system power — 532 hp
Interestingly, the Carrera GTS received a larger engine — 3.6 l instead of 3.0 l. The engine itself produces 478 hp. The overall hybrid powertrain (and the power of the additional electric motor) allowed the company to abandon two turbochargers in favor of one with electric drive. This minimized the effect of turbo lag and increased the responsiveness of the power plant to pressing the gas pedal.
Despite the fact that the new Porsche Carrera GTS added 46 kg of weight (and not only due to the traction battery and additional motor, but also due to other systems — for example, steering rear axle), the increased power made it possible to compensate for the dynamics: up to 60 miles per hour the car accelerates in 2.9 s.
In addition to the T-Hybrid system, the Carrera GTS gets new active aerodynamic louvres at the front that improve cooling without sacrificing drag. The front and rear parts of the sports car have changed somewhat, new rims have appeared, the width of the rear tires has increased by 10 mm (size — 315/30ZR21), but the size of the front wheels has not changed (245/35ZR20). The main innovation inside — new fully digital instrument panel: the analogue tachometer is history.
The base Carrera is also updated for 2025, using the turbos and intercoolers from the previous GTS and Turbo models. Power increased by 9 hp, but torque remained unchanged. The basic version of the Carrera has undergone the same restyling as the GTS, but the regular Carrera does not have active flaps in the front bumper.
In 2025, only base versions of the Carrera and Carrera GTS will be available. Porsche will offer the base Carrera as a rear-wheel drive coupe or convertible, the Carrera GTS will be available as a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive coupe or convertible, and as an all-wheel drive Targa. Turbo, Turbo S and GT3 RS models will arrive in 2025.
Prices have increased with the update: the basic version of the Carrera costs from $122,095, Carrera GTS — from $166,895.
