Company «Irteya» (a subsidiary of the MTS operator) plans to produce 10-20 thousand base stations annually from 2025. MTS President Vyacheslav Nikolaev spoke about this at the Telecom 2024 forum. According to him, in 2024 MTS plans to assemble and install several hundred of its own base stations in its network.
Starting next year, the company intends to reach production volumes of 10-20 thousand mobile communication base stations per year. Nikolaev also noted that MTS now has enough equipment: «we are building networks, nothing stops, we continue to work on import substitution».
It was previously reported that «Irthea» intends to begin producing 4G and 5G base stations this year. It is planned to test the equipment mainly in Moscow and the Moscow region, the start of testing is scheduled for the first half of 2024.
