Motorola, as planned, held a large-scale presentation of its new Edge 50 Pro smartphone in India. The new product received SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 1220p, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a maximum brightness of 2000 nits; The screen has a built-in fingerprint sensor.
It is stated that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has become the first smartphone with a Pantone certificate for the camera and screen: it can convey various colors as realistically as possible, including shades of human skin. The main camera of the device has a resolution of 50 megapixels, it is complemented by a 10-megapixel module with a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 13-megapixel module with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The camera supports optical image stabilization, and the photo will be processed by artificial intelligence, the manufacturer promises. There is also a 50MP front camera.
The new smartphone runs Android 14 OS with an additional Motorola HelloUX interface. It is equipped with a 4500 mAh battery with 125 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. The device also has a water and dust protection class of IP68. Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be available in black and purple colors and has a faux leather back panel. There will also be a limited edition model in Moonlight Pearl color, designed by the Italian design house Mazzucchelli 1849.
The price of the smartphone in India will be 31,999 rupees (about $383) for the 8/256 GB version and 35,999 rupees (about $431) for the 12/256 GB version. The start of sales in India is scheduled for April 9, the Moonlight Pearl edition model will be released a little earlier — April 8.
