Fans of Escape from Tarkov were a bit upset about the mega-premium edition. It looks like everything is going according to plan for Battlestate Games
Recently, another edition was announced for Escape from Tarkov – The Unheard Edition is offered for 11 thousand rubles (excluding taxes, i.e. the real price is much higher). This led to an outcry from the community.
It's not just that Escape from Tarkov The Unheard Edition contains tangible game benefits. This edition included a PvE mode – owners of Edge of Darkness, which was once positioned as “an edition that will give access to all DLC,” will need to pay extra to upgrade to The Unheard Edition.
Against this background, an interview with the boss of Battlestate Games was leaked online. The Tarkov Metamovement community drew attention to the publication – it seems that Nikita Buyanov does not consider such a publication a mistake and, in general, everything is going according to plan:
“Nikita does not think that the appearance of such a publication was a mistake. Moreover, BSG will not admit this publicly. He justified his decision as follows:
1. It's time to get ready for release.
2. It's time to find out who really wholeheartedly supports the Tarkovs.
3. No one is being forced to buy this edition.”
As stated, Battlestate Games has no money problems, and development is proceeding according to plan.
It turns out that access to the PvE mode cannot be given to everyone, since it is very expensive and technically difficult. After release, this mode may be made available for purchase
Owners of Edge of Darkness will have access to subsequent DLC, but it is not yet clear which ones – the experience of the “exclusive” PvE mode has shown , that not all content is equal to DLC.
Also “Tarkov Metamovement” draws attention to an interesting point related to one popular single player mod for Escape from Tarkov:
“Nikita did not share his opinion about a single modification of SPT-AKI for Tarkov. The mod may exist, but with one BUT – “for now.”
