Escape from Tarkov fans are storming the forums and Discord. The discontent clearly had a certain effect. The boss of Battlestate Games himself decided to speak out and made an important decision
Battlestate Games boss Nikita Buyanov himself decided to address the players. It was decided to give access to the PvE mode to owners of Escape from Tarkov Edge of Darkness – they just need to wait for the release. At the same time, the head of development did not admit that PvE mode = DLC, which for some is read as “warming up continues” (it is unknown what other content will be “not DLC” in the future).
Nikita Buyanov’s statement:
Let me clarify the situation in a little more detail regarding the owners of the EoD version and access to the cooperative mode, as well as other pressing issues.
First of all, the PvE mode of the game is not DLC. DLC in our understanding are major additions to the game, including various functionality and content that are released after the official release of the game in the form of thematic DLC packs (for example, the “Life of the Wild” DLC, which will add many new mechanics and gameplay content and leveling for wild).
Secondly, this specific functionality of the PvE mode is located entirely on a separate network infrastructure, because, in fact, you play on our servers, only in closed mode. At this stage, it is not possible to let in all players who own EoD – now we simply do not have the necessary infrastructure and resources for this.
We are observing your dissatisfaction and have decided that the functionality of the PvE mode will be available for free to all owners of the EoD version at the release stage of the game,< /u> when the server infrastructure is brought to the required capacity.
You now have the opportunity to test this mode by purchasing the Unheard Edition or upgrading to this version. We have also decided to provide a 50% discount when upgrading to Unheard Edition from EoD.
We are planning send one free Left Behind Edition key to everyone who has already upgraded from EoD to Unheard Edition at the old price
In addition, to ensure that any player of any version of EFT can try out the PvE mode, we want to add the ability to purchase separate early access to this mode. For EoD owners there will be a 70% discount on the purchase of early access to PvE.
It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this idea.
Next, regarding special items in Unheard Edition, we plan to introduce restrictive and balancing changes for these items.
