The payment system of the Kyrgyz Republic notified the National Payment Card System (NSCP) about the termination of work with the payment system «Mir» from April 3.
NSPC received an official notification from "Elkart", the payment system of the Kyrgyz Republic, about the termination of work with the payment system "Mir". From April 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. (Moscow time), transactions using Mir cards issued by any Russian banks in the infrastructure of participating banks of Elkart will not be implemented.
International partners on the side of the «Mir» payment system no restrictions were introduced. Payment systems and foreign banks themselves decide whether to accept «Mir» cards. in its infrastructure, including taking into account assessments of the risk of secondary sanctions.
Previously «Elkart» stated that the cards «World» will stop working in Kyrgyzstan on April 5 due to sanctions imposed by the United States. It was also reported that users will not have access to cash withdrawals from ATMs and non-cash payments at POS terminals, e-commerce, including “Internet payments from cards to accounts of retail and service enterprises and transfers from card to card.” ;.
