The problem is in the starter solenoid: if water gets into it, a short circuit may occur, which will lead to a fire
Premium brand Hyundai Genesis announced a recall campaign in the United States due to problems with the starter solenoid: if water gets into it, a short circuit may occur, which will lead to a fire in the engine compartment.
A total of 90,907 vehicles will be recalled in the United States: 2015–2016 Hyundai Genesis, 2017–2019 Genesis G80, 2017–2019 Genesis G90 and 2019 Genesis G70 . The company does not restrict the owners of these cars in their use, but asks not to park the car inside the house: if a fire occurs, the house (or garage) may burn down.
The automaker said it is not aware of any injuries, accidents or deaths that have occurred as a result of the defective starter, but decided to launch a recall campaign to avoid putting vehicle owners at risk.
