The third-generation Kia Picanto facelift has been unveiled in Australia, where it will be offered in two variants. The car is an attractive option for those looking for something small but still well equipped.
Kia has gone all out, updating the Picanto in a way that makes it seem like an entirely new model. Opposites United's design philosophy is immediately evident in the updated front fascia, which includes a new grille, bespoke LED headlights and a completely redesigned rear fascia with new lights and a different bumper.
The entry-level model comes in Picanto Sport trim, while the flagship is dubbed GT-Line. The latter features 16-inch wheels, more modern headlights and taillights, and the addition of a new gloss black diffuser.
Both versions are powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, which can be mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 83 hp. and torque 122 Nm. This size is quite enough for a city runabout.
The upgrades implemented in the 2024 Kia Picanto also extend to the interior. Sport and GT-Line models feature a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, new premium synthetic leather for the steering wheel and shift knob, rear USB-C ports and an 8-inch infotainment display.
