Probably all because of the light platinum
There are many different genres of games with different game mechanics. Among them are the simplest clickers, where the player is required to simply press a button at a certain moment. It turned out that the game, which can be called the most primitive clicker in the world, can bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The developer of the Stroke series of games said that his projects earned about $350,000 in less than a year and a half. They are sold only on PlayStation. After deducting the store commission, the author received about $240,000.
Of course, these are pennies compared to the earnings of major games, but there is a nuance. Firstly, games are sold for a very small amount (currently about $4). That is, relatively many copies were sold. Secondly, the entire game, if it can be called a game at all, is an image of some animal (each game in the series has its own animal), music and a click counter. That's all. The game does not react to presses in any way, except for changes on the counter, and to get platinum you just need to press the button 2000 times. Actually, presumably, an easy trophy — one of the reasons why people bought the game in the first place.
