Air Moldova lost its air operator certificate, which deprived it of its status as an air carrier and the right to commercial flights.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova canceled the airline's main document due to non-compliance and non-compliance with the minimum criteria for obtaining an AOC certificate. It did not eliminate the identified inconsistencies, and it did not have any working aircraft left.
Air Moldova is now awaiting official notification of the revocation of its operator status. If the company wants to resume flying in the future, it will have to go through the certification process again.
This airline was on the verge of bankruptcy about a year ago when flights were suspended due to a lack of aircraft. In May, it filed for an accelerated restructuring, hoping for an investor willing to invest $50 million to solve financial problems and replenish its fleet. However, help never arrived.
