It took Apple 14 years to do this. The company will finally introduce a calculator for iPad

It will appear in iPadOS 18

The first iPad came out in 2010, essentially creating a new market and sparking the emergence of a huge number of similar products from other manufacturers. But for 14 years, Apple hasn’t bothered to develop a banal calculator for the iPad. According to recent reports, it will finally be presented at the upcoming event.

The calculator app will arrive in iPadOS 18 later this year, and as always, the announcement is expected at WWDC. It is worth mentioning that there are already a huge number of calculators for iPadOS, but these are all third-party applications that need to be downloaded from the App Store. And now Apple will finally introduce a native calculator that will be included in iPadOS natively.

The lack of a native calculator on the iPad has long become a meme on the Internet, but Apple couldn’t even clearly explain why it didn’t release it for so many years. Except that Craig Federighi said a few years ago that the company simply couldn’t make a good enough app. Apparently, now she has finally succeeded.
