Huawei will do without Qualcomm, but will not offer anything new? SoC Kirin 9010 is being prepared for P70 smartphones

But it will probably be only a slightly improved Kirin 9000s

Huawei is preparing flagship smartphones of the P70 line, and they may receive a new Kirin single-chip system.

Smart Pikachu insider says that Huawei is testing the Kirin 9010 SoC for its new flagships. However, there is no information yet about what kind of platform this is.

Given the name, we can assume that this is only a slightly improved Kirin 9000s, that is, the platform will retain approximately the same core configuration and the same 7 nm process technology. Let us remember that the 5-nanometer Kirin 9006, as it turns out, is not produced by SMIC, so Huawei does not have the opportunity to obtain the appropriate platform for its smartphones.

This probably means that in terms of performance, Huawei's new products will be much inferior to their competitors. Considering that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300 are already out, the gap will be colossal. And although the Mate 60 line showed that the old platform — not a hindrance to excellent sales — The question remains how long consumers will put up with this state of affairs if Huawei is unable to offer anything truly new.
