Half of all new cars in Russia in 2023 were produced by AvtoVAZ. In second place – Haval

Avtotor, which once provided Russians with BMW, Hyundai and Kia cars, last year produced only 4% of new cars from the total number

Despite all its problems, AvtoVAZ was and remains the real flagship of the domestic automobile industry: according to Avtostat, AvtoVAZ accounted for 48% of the production of new cars in Russia in 2023.

Interestingly, in second place — Chinese brand: Haval. The Tula enterprise produced 13.6% of new cars in Russia last year. In third place is GAZ with a market share of 9.8%.

All other automakers have a noticeably lower share: KamAZ — 6.4%, UAZ — 4.9%, «Avtotor» — 4%, «Moskvich» — 3.3%.
