But it’s unclear how this will turn out for Google

Epic Games won a lawsuit against Google. According to the court decision, Google has turned its Google Play application store into a monopolist. At the same time, the court has not yet made any decisions regarding what Google should now do, until it was decided — they will be accepted early next year.

Recall that Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Google, accusing the latter of adhering to anti-competitive practices and being a monopolist in its Google Play store. Epic Games filed a similar lawsuit against Apple, but in that case the court sided with the latter.

In general, Epic Games began a legal campaign against the giants in order to cancel or reduce the tax that these same giants charge in their application stores, while not allowing them to be sold in games sold in these stores (for Epic Games this is primarily Fortnite), an internal store for purchasing in-game items.

At the same time, firstly, Google has the opportunity to file an appeal, and the company will definitely file it (it has already announced this), and secondly, it is still unclear what the loss will turn out for Google if it will be final.
