Much more profitable than RX 6600 or Arc A580
The TechPowerUp resource has finally gotten to the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB video card, which recently entered the market. Tests from this source are always very voluminous, and therefore the most interesting.
But, of course, there are no changes for Nvidia’s new product. This is a video card with very mediocre performance. In Full HD, and in this case there is no point in evaluating other resolutions, a full-fledged RTX 3050 is almost 30% faster. And even the GTX 1660 Ti is almost 20% faster, while the good old GTX 1060 is 20% behind, which, given its age, is very significant. However, the Radeon RX 6500 XT is almost 30% slower, so the RTX 3050 6GB is not the worst among fairly modern models.
The only advantage of the RTX 3050 6GB over older Nvidia cards — DLSS support, which is very useful for a card of this level. Also, of course, we can note the very low power consumption of the new product — only about 72 watts in games. Let us remind you that the card is not even equipped with an additional power connector.
If we talk about prices, in Europe such a card costs from 180 euros, while for a full-fledged RTX 3050 8GB they ask for at least 222 euros, that is, the difference for this segment is noticeable. At the same time, the RX 6500 XT costs 160 euros, that is, the new Nvidia product is even more profitable. But the RX 6600 can be bought for 208 euros, and it is 60% faster. Another great option — Intel Arc A580 with 8 GB of memory, which starts at 195 euros, being faster than the RTX 3050 6GB by 54%.
