Even if Nvidia's competitors give away their AI chips for free, it “won't be cheap enough.” Jensen Huang thinks so

Now no one can compete with Nvidia

Nvidia is now almost a monopolist in the market of chips for artificial intelligence training. Competitors are releasing their own products, but even if they make these accelerators free, it won't be enough to compete with Nvidia. At least according to the head of the company.

Jensen Huang said at one of his events that his company's chips are so good that even if competitors' chips were free, it wouldn't be cheap enough. < /p>

The head of Nvidia explained his very bold statement by saying that the cost of the accelerators themselves is actually not particularly important compared to the total cost of ownership of an entire data center aimed at AI. You also need to take into account the cost of all other equipment, the cost of electricity, maintenance, specialists, and so on. In addition, Huang noted that Nvidia accelerators have already become a standard in this industry, which also plays against competitors.
